Equities Market Perspective: Central bank communication increasingly hawkish


There has been a noticeable shift in central bank policy stance over the last two weeks of June. In this month’s update, Ritu Vohora, Investment Director asks if the era of cheap money is coming to an end?

Ritu also provides a review of market trends in June with global equities rounding off a strong first half of the year. Financials led performance over the month, helped by a resurgent US banking industry buoyed by a favourable regulatory outcome. This was closely followed by healthcare, which bucked the trend in an otherwise difficult month for defensives.

The value of investments will fluctuate, which will cause prices to fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the original amount they invested.
