Two M&G investments funds awarded the ‘Towards sustainability’ label in Belgium

16/09/2020

M&G Investments (“M&G”), one of the largest European active asset managers, announces that two of its funds have been successfully accredited with the “Towards Sustainability” label, the quality standard for sustainable and socially responsible investment in Belgium. This award will help more Belgian investors to access investments which help improve our environment and society, and is a sign of M&G’s deep commitment to growing the Belgian market.

Issued by the Central Labelling Agency (CLA), an independent Belgian association dedicated to strengthening the qualitative approach to sustainable saving and investing, the “Towards Sustainability” label makes it clearer for retail and institutional investors to see what they are investing in, and easier to participate in building a more sustainable economy. To be granted the label, the funds must go through a rigorous application process, meet several sector exclusions, demonstrate robust monitoring capabilities and high levels of transparency.

On August 20, the “Towards Sustainability” label has been awarded to two M&G funds:

  • The M&G (Lux) Positive Impact fund, a Luxembourg-domiciled global equities fund investing in sustainable companies that seek to have a positive societal impact through addressing the world’s major social and environmental challenges, whilst aiming to provide attractive investments returns;
  • The M&G (Lux) Sustainable Allocation fund, a Luxembourg-domiciled multi-asset fund incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and investing in companies that seek to have a positive societal impact, whilst aiming to provide attractive investments returns.

Kelly Hebert, Country Head for M&G Belgium and Luxembourg: “The “Towards Sustainability” label is testament to our rigorous responsible investment approach. The pandemic induced crisis is undoubtedly exacerbating the world’s social and environmental issues. As a financial institution committed to selling sustainably labelled products in Belgium, we are now proud to offer these two funds to our partners and clients to help them access investment solutions that also help make the world a little better.”

M&G systematically integrates ESG into its research process, its investee engagement programme and its portfolio evaluation process, across the majority of its investments. M&G also has a growing range of investment solutions with specific ESG objectives, such as the M&G (Lux) Positive Impact Fund and the M&G (Lux) Sustainable Allocation Fund.
